Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing Dads out there!

Happy Papa's Day to my hubby. My husband has set such a great example of being a fun, loving uncle and I know he'll make an even better Dad. We are both so excited to welcome little Rivers into the world in just a couple weeks and I can't wait to see my husband transform into a Dad.

Dallas, Baby Shower, and Family...

...my week at a glance

1. If you are ever in the Grapevine, TX area you have got to go to Farina's Winery and Cafe. Ask to sit on the back patio.
2. Dinner on the lake
3. Checking on our garden. Doesn't even look like we spent all day weeding.
4. My baby shower! The cutest cake ever!
5. Cake Pops. One of good friends and her mom made these. Aren't they amazing?! Here's a link to her blog
6. Lots and Lots of presents!
7. Oh and she made these little moccasins too! She is going to have a post on her blog about these shoes soon. Stephen and I can't get enough of these.
8. My best friend, Ashley, feeling baby Rivers :)

Memorial Day

Memorial Day 2012

Memorial Day was great.. Everyone played in the water, ate hot dogs, drank some beer, and played a little good ole' fashion corn hole. By the end of the day we felt like true Americans...ha!

5 Yr Anniversary Trip

Time really seems to fly by when I look back on all the wonderful years I've been able to spend with my husband. We were so lucky to have met each other at the age of 15, and have already been able to spend close to 10 years together. Looking back on our relationship, I can't believe our parents actually let us get married so young, and even though it wasn't always smooth sailing, everything that we have gone through has made our relationship and love for each other even stronger. We are now expecting our first child, and even though I become filled with fear of the unknown I know I have the most perfect man for me by my side to help me through anything. I can't wait for this next chapter in our lives to start and I couldn't be happier to be sharing it with my perfect pear.

Love you Steviepoo!

Our Trip

Since I am 35 weeks pregnant, we knew we couldn't travel very far for our anniversary, so we decided to make a trip down to Lake Travis. This trip was just what we both needed. We were able to veg by the pool and not think about anything, but by the end of our trip we were both ready to get home and really focus on preparing for baby.

Anniversary Dinner

We arrived just in time to see the sunset

Breakfast of champions

This is a face of a person who hasn't had their morning coffee yet.

The pool was amazing.

This is what we did for 2 days straight.

Took a little stroll down to the marina.

We were able to meet up with Stephen's sister, Danielle, for some good ole Texas BBQ. County Line BBQ was so yummy!

U-Pick Extravaganza

U-Pick Season!

The u-pick season is upon us for blackberries and blueberries, and I am so excited. I grew up picking strawberries and blueberries, and I loved it! I was so excited to find a number of farms in the Tyler area that offer u-pick.

Indian Creek Farm
I stumbled upon this farm yesterday and can't believe I hadn't been there before. It was such a cute farm and well manicured. We will be back for sure!
Not sure what I should make with all the yummy blackberries I picked, any ideas? I was thinking maybe a cobbler or jam.

If any of you are interested in picking your own produce, here is a website with a list of u-pick farms in the Tyler, Tx area.

On Our Way to Parenthood ...

We have officially graduated from birthing class! We had our newborn class last night, and we learned how to swaddle, bathe, and what to expect the baby to do in the first few weeks. It was actually really fun going to these classes and talking with couples that are in the same boat as we are.
We've now completed our birthing classes, baby CPR class, and our newborn class. We are now ready to be parents...ha!

Stephen learning how to change a diaper... He's going to be a pro!
Today I decided to be productive and get out of the apartment and start a craft. I have been seeing all these homemade stuffed animals all over the Internet, and I thought it would be a lot fun to make ones similar. I'll post a tutorial over my DIY animals once I figure out what I'm going to do.
This is some fabric I found at our local fabric store, I'm going to attempt to make it a little more boyish. I'm having a hard time coming up with cute little boy nursery ideas, I can't seem to get away from floral patterns. If you have any ideas, PLEASE let me know.

Baby Shower #2

Hallelujah, school is over for the summer!

Now I can finally start focusing on getting ready for baby Rivers. We have gotten so much stuff for Rivers from our friends and family and cannot even express how grateful we are to have such amazing people in our lives. This past weekend I had my second baby shower and it was so much fun. Our friends that threw the shower did such an amazing job, I'm still amazed at how well everything turned out and how giving our friends are.
